Commencing in October 2024, the Unravelling the Relationships Between Kindergarten Teachers’ Job Characteristics, Emotional Labor and its Consequences in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area project is designed to integrate systematic scholarly study with a comprehensive series of knowledge transfer initiatives, enriching the knowledge of teachers’ emotional labour and its antecedents and consequences in early childhood education (ECE), reveal potential factors influencing teachers’ professional functioning, and contribute to designing effective interventions for teacher professional

development and retention. It is anticipated that these efforts will yield a wide array of benefits to the education profession, impacting both local and regional spheres.

 

Academically, the project is expected to produce a number of presentations in international conferences and publications in international journals. Practically, the project is expected to contribute to designing effective interventions for ECE teacher professional development and retention. Meanwhile, the project incorporates a series of knowledge transfer activities that will benefit participants and practitioners in various ways. These knowledge transfer activities include introductory seminars, conferences, kick-off and closing ceremonies and public talks.
