“弘揚教育家精神 引領教師教育發展” Academic Conference(25 Sep)

Sep, 2024
Zhejiang Normal University's College of Education and the Zhejiang Provincial Key Cultivation Research Base for Philosophy and Social Sciences jointly held the academic seminar "弘揚教育家精神 引領教師教育發展" on September 25.
Professor Yin Hongbiao, Director of the Centre for Education Research and School Improvement (CERSI), was invited to attend and delivered an academic report titled "Are Happy Teachers also Efficacious and Committed? A Social Cognitive Analysis." He began by revisiting the theories of the renowned educational psychologist Albert Bandura, introducing the core concept of "self-efficacy" and systematically elaborating its profound impact on individuals in areas such as cognition, motivation, emotion, and decision-making. He further analyzed the interactive mechanisms between self-efficacy, its sources, and its consequences, noting that Bandura's theories may have somewhat underestimated the role of emotions and positive affective states in the formation of an individual's self-efficacy. By presenting empirical data analysis results, he found that kindergarten teachers with higher levels of subjective well-being often exhibit stronger teaching confidence and professional commitment; however, the reverse does not hold true, the key lies in how teachers interpret and understand "successes" in their teaching practice.
